If you’ve ever wondered what our process behind reforesting pine and eucalyptus species is like in Trombini, you’ve come to the right place! Check out below the stages of responsible forest management and how crucial it is in the production of our paper packaging solutions.
1. Choosing the place: First of all, you need to find the ideal places for planting. Each piece of land is mapped in detail, identifying Permanent Preservation Areas (PPAs), legal reserves and other land uses, always respecting environmental standards. Trombini only uses wood from renewable (planted) forests, and we do not adopt deforestation practices for timber extraction or for planting forests.
2. Responsible management: At Trombini, forest management is taken seriously. All environmental standards and legislation are strictly followed, ensuring that planting is conducted in consolidated areas and without harming the environment. In addition, our wood undergoes internal and external audits to guarantee its controlled origin.
3. Certifications: Trombini has an international certification that attests to the implementation of the best sustainable practices throughout the entire production chain, guaranteeing the origin and traceability of the paper’s raw material.
4. From forest to production: Pine and Eucalyptus species have important roles in Trombini’s production. Pine, with its long, resistant fibers, is used in the manufacture of multilayer paper bags. Eucalyptus is used to generate energy and steam, as is pine bark, which is also used in this process, essential for our production.
5. Awareness: In addition to responsible forest management, Trombini also raise people’s awareness. Through lectures in schools, participation in academic events and other community actions, we socially reinforce the importance of preserving forests and various pro-environmental actions, such as selective collection and recycling, for example.
Currently, Trombini has almost 5 thousand hectares of planted forests and more than 6 thousand hectares preserved in PPAs, legal reserves, and native areas.
